The Blastik Project is a full-circle on-site economically-viable plastic bottle collection & recycling program.  It can be easily replicated in Philippine barangays (villages), LGUs, small organizations and small companies.

The project makes sure that all materials in a plastic beverage bottle (bottle, cap and label) are fully-recycled so they don't reach our oceans or defile our farm lands.

ABOUT

THE PLASTIC PROBLEM

According to Greenpeace, the Philippines is the 3rd largest ocean polluter in the world.  For an archipelago smaller than the land area of the U.S. State of California, this is disturbing news.

Single-use plastic is the bulk of plastic waste in the country's seas.  According to a study by GAIA (Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives), Filipinos throw away 163 million plastic sachets, 48 million plastic shopping bags, 45 million thin film plastic bags and 3 million disposable diapers DAILY!

Although PET beverage bottles are also made of plastic, they are recyclable.  However, the recycling rate of these bottles is still relatively low.

The Blastik Project hopes to change this - by providing on-site at-source recycling methods.
